About the artist:
Jillian (she/her) is a multidisciplinary artist currently living, and finding home, in Bridgenorth Ontario. She navigates the world as a white, settler, queer, disabled, sensitive, always making, and almost always tired, person.. Her art practice is driven and inspired by the many special places she finds connections, including by the water, over cups of tea, among the trees, and at community art drop-in gatherings.
Jillian’s printmaking practice grew from her love of pen and ink drawing, and now includes linocut along with playful explorations in cyanotype, intaglio printmaking styles and textile printing. The animals, plants, fish, and waters where she lives are often the subjects of her work, as well as a particularly special herd of horses she knows and loves. Jillian’s work can be found at the Art Gallery of Peterborough’s gallery shop, the Art School of Peterborough’s LAUNCH Gallery, and Take Cover Books.
